There were quite a few people that liked this machine and the people that gave positive reviews listed a number of things that they were happy with.  The machine is easy to use, you can select your preferred stitch by just pressing the button a few times and then you are ready to sew.  You can also modify your stitch length and width with a sliding lever.  There are also a number of good stitches pre-programmed into the machine.  The Singer 7442 has a “6 second threading system” and people are reporting that they are able to thread this machine in just a few seconds.
